KENDALLVILLE — The teams coming out of the loser’s bracket in a double-elimination tournament always have to live on the edge. One major mistake can turn a game around and send the team packing. The Stewart, Brimner & Lear Insurance Yankees were in that situation during the Kendallville Youth Baseball Senior League Tournament after being defeated in the first round. On Wednesday, that edge was taken off. While tallying one of its best offensive games of the season, the Yankees cracked 14 hits and defeated the Shepherd’s GM Rays, 15-3, for the league title.
