KENDALLVILLE — It was all about swimming, biking, running, family fun. Organizers of Saturday’s first ever Kids Triathlon in Bixler Lake Park said their goal was to promote a healthy lifestyle. Children as young as five-years old swam 25 yards in the lake, and biked half a mile and ran half a mile on a park road. Their parents helped them transition onto their bicycles, and then ran with them to the finish line. The older kids swam, biked and ran farther. East Noble graduate and Beijing Olympian Amy Yoder Begley, who now resides and trains professionally in Portland, Oregon for Nike, welcomed each competitor with a big smile, a high five and the medallion.
