About 80 Noble County third-graders gained hands-on safety advice at the 12th annual Emergency Services Safety Camp for Kids Wednesday at the Noble County Fairgrounds. Parkview Noble Hospital and Noble County Emergency Management sponsor the event. About 50 adults — including nurses and hospital staff and EMS paramedics and technicians — volunteer each year to supervise the kids, said Noble County Emergency Services director Tom Shumaker. Staff set up various stations related to emergency services, safety and health such as injury prevention, first aid, physical fitness and healthy eating habits, CPR, water rescue and using a fire extinguisher.
